TomeCon was Amazing!

I had such a wonderful time at TomeCon 18 that I wanted to post a little bit about my day to thank all the wonderful students and teachers I met down in Georgia. I had a very full day doing five presentations for both elementary and middle-high school students on setting and world building in fantasy novels. They were great talks, and I found the questions and input from all the students thoughtful and engaging.

In between the book talks, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet some of my fans who read The Silver Gate as a part of the Tome IT list for 2017. It was a thrill for me to meet such enthusiastic readers who were clearly very passionate and excited about all the books they read.

One of my favorite fans I met was this amazing girl who came to TomeCon dressed as Wynn, complete with Mildred. Her costume was fantastic, and I was so happy to meet her. I also had a chance to see some wonderful fan art, including this picture of Elric and Wynn that won a fan art contest! I had a wonderful time. It is one of the best events I have participated in as an author, and I am so grateful to the dedicated team of organizers and volunteers that pulled together to create such a fantastic event for young readers. I hope I can come down to Georgia for another TomeCon in the future.

School Events and Booksigning

I’m very excited to spend a busy day out and about on Wednesday, January 18th. I’m looking forward to visiting the students at St. Albert the Great Elementary School and Incarnation Elementary School here in the Dayton area. We will be learning about how to create a character and craft a plot for a short story. We will also be talking about The Silver Gate and learning about the publishing industry.

After that, I’ll be at the Books & Co at the Greene in Beavercreek for a book signing at 6:30 pm. I will be there to answer any questions about my new book, so come and join the fun! There will be door prizes for lucky members of the audience.

I hope to see you soon!
